Dr. Marnie Siff-Korpi

Dr. Marnie Siff-Korpi is a Special Education Advocate who has been working in the field of Special Education for over 30 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in Human Development and Family Studies, followed by a Masters in Special Education from Columbia University, Teachers College. She then went on to complete a Doctorate in Special Education and Administration and Supervision from Columbia University, Teachers College.

Dr. Siff-Korpi began her career teaching for the New York City Board of Education in District 75, a district dedicated to providing highly specialized instruction for students with significant learning, behavioral, and developmental needs. Her work there grounded her in the importance of individualized support and close collaboration with families.

She then went on to create a program for students with multiple disabilities in the Scarsdale School District, where she taught both special education and kindergarten. This work deepened her expertise in designing accessible, developmentally appropriate instruction and supporting students with complex needs.

Dr. Siff-Korpi later transitioned to higher education, serving as a professor at Columbia University, Teachers College, where she taught and mentored future educators. She then became the Director of the Special Education Program for graduate and undergraduate students at Mercy College, overseeing curriculum development, clinical preparation, and educator training.

She currently teaches and advises students in Special Education at Westchester Community College, while also working independently as a Special Education Advocate supporting families locally and wherever they may need guidance.
